MORTENSEN, Christian Edward FAHA

MORTENSEN,

Christian Edward FAHA

25 April 1945 -

23 September 2026

It is with deep sadness that the Mortensen and Speck families announce that

Chris Mortensen died peacefully after a long illness.

He will be fondly

remembered as a philosopher,

logician and Hughes

Professor of Philosophy,

University of Adelaide, 1998–2005, and

Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Catherine Speck, daughter Edie Mortensen

and son Jesse Mortensen, daughter-in-law Kara, grandchildren Lilly and Patrick, and the wider Mortensen, Batts, Legge, Percy and Vickery families in Rockhampton.

Rest in Peace
