MAFS expert Mel Schilling dies aged 54
Mel Schilling, beloved MAFS relationship expert, has died aged 54 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
17°CCatherine was born in Brisbane Qld and passed away in London England. She was known for her warm and close relationships with friends and business colleagues throughout her life. She attended Southover Manor in Sussex UK followed by higher studies at The Brillamont Institute in Lausanne Switzerland. She carved out a successful career as the co-owner of Nimmo & Spooner in Lillie Rd. London, a renowned shop offering distinctive 18th to 20th century home furnishings. Beyond her professional life Cathy loved to travel. She returned to Australia for several years as a young woman. Later in life she frequently vacationed in Rhodes and often visited France on buying trips. She was also a dedicated godmother and aunt, involved in the lives of her godchildren and nephew Russell. Cathy was preceded in death by her father Lieut General R.H. Nimmo and her mother Mary Dundas Page Nimmo. She is survived by her brother Robert, her Australian cousins and her close friend Myra Spooner.
A Celebration of Life will be held in London honoring her life. Cathy will be remembered for her generous spirit, her sense of humor and her strong friendships.
