Elders Rural Deniliquin will conduct a water auction in Deniliquin on Friday, August 23 starting at 11am.
Elders real estate agent and water broker Matt Horne said they had received demand from both buyers and sellers to conduct another auction following the success of last year’s July auction.
"We decided to push it back a month this year given we have received good rainfall throughout the autumn and winter and an excellent start to the pasture and cropping seasons,'' Mr Horne said.
"Whilst many irrigators' need for water allocation may not be required today, the auction will assist those that are considering irrigating this spring or planning their summer cropping programs.
"The auction will give irrigators and producers a real understanding as to where the market price sits on a dollar per megalitre basis and is a real opportunity to secure their water requirements.
"We find the public auction system to be very transparent and no buyers' commission will be applied to purchases on the day.''
The current listings include parcels of NSW/Victoria Murray and Murrumbidgee surface allocation and groundwater allocation parcels, NSW Murray Zone 10 and Lower Murrumbidgee groundwater entitlements.
