About 900 people attended today's funeral of Murchison businessman, entrepreneur and benefactor, Guiseppe "Joe" Vraca.
Mr Vraca died on January 2.
He migrated to Australia in 1960, unable to speak a word of English, but over the years developed a successful agricultural businesses in tomatoes, horticulture and dairying.
Brett Kearney and Neil Lowe delivered the eulogies at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Karla Scrimizzi gave a reading from the Bible: "The time has come for me to depart. I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish...."
Hundreds of people spilled out of the church onto the concrete apron and gardens.
After the funeral mass, the cortege left for the Tatura Lawn Cemetery.
