Rochester by night

The town of Rochester, population 3000, was first settled in the 1850s as a farming area and grew steadily thanks to its position on the railway line between Echuca and Bendigo. The pioneers built a few significant public buildings including the shire hall and the substantial Shamrock Hotel. More lately the town has attracted some interest due to the painting of the grain silos. Their illumination has attracted the attention of passing traffic.
