Saleyards Cafe in Shepparton is one of the few small business outlets where the charity beanies promoting the Big Freeze are sold.
Cafe owner Kim Jarman and Shepparton Regional Saleyards manager Brendan Carey are big supporters of the charity that raises money for motor neurone disease research.
Kim said all the proceeds from the sales go to the charity established by ex-footballer Neale Daniher.
Last year $15 million was raised for research and care.
The ‘freeze’ was initiated 10 years ago and is now replicated by a variety of ice bucket challenges.
Brendan said he would like to see the box of beanies snapped up for such a great cause.
Kim said patrons picking up a beanie should try the cafe’s legendary curried sausages.
“We always have curried sausages on the menu,” she said.
