The popular event, now in its 39th year, has in the past attracted more than 100 entries of tractors and trucks to compete in the two divisions of over- and under- 20 horsepower.
The free event — which in the past has had up to 500 spectators — will have catering and a grand parade on the Sunday afternoon.
The weekend will also include twilight tractor pulling under lights on Saturday night, Moira Miniature Railway’s acclaimed train rides for the children (both genuine and those at heart), a Federation car picnic display on the Sunday, working exhibits of machinery and demonstrations from those artisans at GV Woodturners.
And not for the faint-hearted, the famous Crossley engine will be started up every hour, on the hour.
“It’s a good event for those who are looking for something to do at Easter to look out for,” club secretary Darryl Remnant said.
“Anyone with a tractor can come along and enter in either horsepower category.
“There will be trophies up for grabs.”
Two sleds will be used in the competitions for the two categories. The sleds are designed to measure the distance a tractor can pull with a changing drag.
All entries need to be insured with National Historic Machinery Association Insurance.
The event is on Easter Saturday and Sunday, March 30 and 31, from 9.30am to 5pm at the Wunghnu Recreational Reserve, Wunghnu.
