Jerseys win on-farm challenge

Best girl: Champion cow from the Goulburn Murray Jersey Breeders Club on-farm challenge is Loxleigh Valentino Peace 6650. She is owned by Geoff and Natalie Akers of Tallygaroopna.

A three-year-old from the herd of Geoff and Natalie Akers of Tallygaroopna has taken out the Goulburn Murray Jersey Breeders Club Champion Cow award in the annual on-farm challenge.

The Akers’ Loxleigh Valentino Peace 6650 was placed first in the three-year-old section, and the same stud produced winners in the two-year-old, five-year-old and eight-year-old categories.

Genetics Australia sponsored the event, which was judged by Les Bennett from Macorna.

She’s a beauty: Champion four-year-old Kaarmona Valentino Babe 285.

Young star: Two-year-old winner Loxleigh Valentino Design 7063.

Plenty of experience: Equal winner in the six to seven years category is Brunetta Jade 3371.
