Waaia tractor pull coming up

By Geoff Adams

The big, thundering modified tractors will be on the track at the Waaia Modified Tractor Pull on Saturday, March 14.

The tractor pull will feature the loudest and fastest modified tractors on the regional circuit.

Big name imports ‘Wolverine Deere 2’ and ‘Wicked Whitetail’, open outlaws ‘Blown Income’, ‘Tommy’s Toy’ and crowd favourite ‘Stampede’ are ready to put on a show.

The infamous ‘Riverina Screamer’ will go head-to-head in the open class with the Canadian import ‘Coyote'.

Local icons, ‘The General’ and ‘Beats Work’n’ will continue their battle for supremacy in the limited class, with ‘The General’ currently having the technological edge on his older-style counterpart.

The day will include amusements for the kids.

Hot food will be provided by local schools and food vans, there will be a dedicated wet side with full bar access and Cheeky Grog Co cider on tap, as well as a range of slick merchandise available.

The event is 5 km north of Waaia on the Waaia-Bearii Rd. Admission is $25 for adults, $10 for aged pensioners, $5 for under-18s and no charge for under-5s. Family tickets are $60.

Gates open at 3 pm with action starting at 4 pm.
