The man’s navy blue Ford XR6 was involved in a three-vehicle collision with a Ford ute and a silver Holden Commodore at the intersection of Wyndham and Vaughan Sts just after 11am.
Police said the 26-year-old Shepparton man driving the XR6 was allegedly seen by a police officer running from the crash and into the Shepparton courthouse at the intersection of Wyndham and High Sts.
He was found by police allegedly hiding in the courthouse and was escorted from the building by police.
He will be interviewed at a later date and is expected to be charged on summons with charges including leaving the scene of an accident, failing to render assistance at an accident and reckless conduct.
An 85-year-old Wyuna man driving the ute was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
The driver of the Holden Commodore, a 67-year-old Shepparton East man, was not injured in the crash.
All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
