Grants of between $250000 and $4million are now available to farmers, Landcare Groups, universities and others groups to fund projects exploring areas including soil health, pest control and farm input use.
Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said the second round of the Smart Farming Partnerships program would help create new practices.
‘‘We’re looking for applications from across all agricultural industries including cropping, livestock, mixed farming and horticulture.
‘‘Grants can fund research, trials or delivery of projects which deal with, for example, soil health, pest control, farm input efficiency, indigenous involvement and climate adaptation.
‘‘These grants are delivered in partnerships and offer a fantastic opportunity for organisations to partner with farmers to promote the best practices.’’
■Grant applications for round two of the Smart Farming Partnerships are open until early May. For more information visit: www.agriculture.gov.au
