Gumboots and raincoats are nothing new for Bendigo farm girl Ivy Sexton. The almost two-year-old was right at home among the puddles of the Elmore Field Days last week, where her parents Lily and Billy were surveying the hundreds of exhibitors involved in the three-day event.
Rain showers fell on the Elmore Field Days affecting attendance, but the threatened thunderstorms and heavy rain did not eventuate.

Organisers were holding their breath after earlier forecasts of massive falls.
Light rain fell on Tuesday and steady rain was recorded on Wednesday.
Field days officials tipped hundreds of cubic metres of wood chips onto the ground and also ran a pump to clear the drains in the lower areas.
Field days president Scott Nichol said attendance was steady on Tuesday and Thursday and might have been down on Wednesday.
“People chose their days to come,” Mr Nichol said.
As for any apprehension over the conditions: “You can’t worry about what you can’t control.”
The event, held from October 4 to 6, was a welcome return after a gap of two years due to COVID-19.
The field days marshalled hundreds of volunteers and the income generated will be distributed among community groups.
Site holders interviewed by Country News were philosophical about the rain, noting that it was useful for crops and it was outside of the control of the field days.
The top agribusiness site award went to the Rural Bank and the best static award went to Shepparton CF Moto.
