Bridget McKenzie has resigned from her post as deputy leader of the Nationals and Federal Agriculture Minister after an investigation of her time as a former sports minister found she breached ministerial standards.

The investigation by the prime minister's departmental head Phil Gaetjens showed the minister did not declare her involvement in sporting clubs that received grants, however McKenzie denied any personal benefit.
A vote for the deputy leadership position for the National party will be held on today, and Barnaby Joyce is expected to offer himself for the top position of leadership if there is a spill of that role.
