HW Greenham & Sons up for sustainability gong

The Banksia Foundation Award — now in its 34th year — is Australia’s longest running and most prestigious sustainability award, which honours businesses that demonstrate sustainability.

Record entry numbers this year have resulted in 58 finalists across 14 categories, with winners being announced at the Melbourne Convention Centre on Thursday, April 4.

HW Greenham & Sons managing director Peter Greenham said the beef sustainability standard allows beef producers to demonstrate their sustainability credentials more easily and provide consumers with confidence that farms that supply beef to the company have a positive impact on the land.

“In partnership with cattle suppliers and our valued key customers, Greenham developed its ... standard to address a growing demand from customers for robust environmental credentials,” Mr Greenham said.

“To ensure alignment with broader industry goals, the standard was built around the four themes identified in the Australian beef sustainability framework: animal welfare, economic resilience, environmental stewardship and people and the community.”
