This year’s charity day drew about 120 golfers and bowlers, who braved a brisk start before the sun emerged to gather at the Jerilderie Sports Club.
The 18‑hole Ambrose competition proved a major drawcard, offering a relaxed social round for players of all abilities, while lawn bowls attracted strong participation across all ages.
A highlight of the day was the Big Freeze 4, inspired by the national FightMND campaign.
Daz Keating as ‘Elsa’, Katrina Muto as ‘Dustin Martin’, Sam Sleigh as ‘Neale Daniher’ and Jeremy Bryce as ‘Steve Irwin’ entertained the crowd with their icy plunges.

Jeremy became a crowd favourite, returning for three dunks as donations continued to roll in.
Late in the afternoon, Tess Kernaghan was inspired to join the challenge.
She raised $1000 in rapid time and delivered one of the day’s most memorable moments, leaping into the freezing water with a scream that delighted spectators.
Guest speaker Sam Mitchell, from Cobram, provided a thoughtful and personal insight into life with MND, discussing diagnosis, treatment and the vital support offered by MND Victoria.
The event is held each June in honour of Ian ‘Sneds’ Sneddon, a much‑loved former Mayor of Jerilderie and founder of the Two River Tractor Run. An MND sufferer himself, Mr Sneddon died in 2019.
Since his passing, friends and supporters have continued raising awareness and funds in his name, with all money raised going to MND Victoria and contributing directly to care for people living with MND and their families.
Katrina Muto took on a Dustin Martin persona to brave the icy plunge.
On the competition front, bowls winners were Vicki Schefe, Colin Bryce and Mitch Kenny.
Golf honours went to Robyne Sneddon, Jamie Wilkinson, Shane Foster, Campbell Rowan and Lee Rowan.
The lucky raffle winners were Sadie Herrick (first prize), Leanne Cahill (second) and Teresa Mantovani (third).
The day was made possible through the efforts of Jerilderie Sports Club, Jerilderie Lions Club, the organising committee sponsors, volunteers and the wider community’s ongoing support.
Jeremy Bryce, dressed as Steve Irwin, entered the water several times when the donations kept rolling in.
