The ram was the first lot offered by Toland Pastoral from Violet Town, and sold to Lyndon and Sharon Kubeil from Violet Town.
A second Toland ram sold for $4500.
President Kevin Hynam said the figures were higher than last year and the outcome was better than expected.
The sale, conducted by Elders, averaged $2447 for a total of 43 lots, with seven lots passed in.
Volume buyers included Toland Pastoral, Bennmann Merinos of Everton, Bindawarra stud from Giffard West, Hynam Poll from Longwood, Koole Vale from Costerfield and Kilfeera Park from Lurg.
Toland Pastoral exhibited the best all-purpose ram which was determined after objective judging.
Anna Toland said her family was happy with the sale outcome considering the tough season.
